Anti-bullying
At Fairfields, we encourage our children to be themselves and respect others for being themselves too. Instances of bullying are low in our school.
Through our PSHE curriculum, we actively promote SMSC and the fundamental British Values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs.
Learning to understand and manage conflict is an important part of growing up. Bullying is not simply a 'falling out'. Research shows that experiencing bullying can have a significant impact on a child's life well into adulthood. To ensure we are able to prevent bullying, we have a whole school approach; we act quickly when it takes place and avoid misidentifying bullying. Every year we promote the message of anti-bullying across the whole school and join in with National ‘Anti-bullying Week’.
Below is some of the work produced by our children across the whole school during our Anti-bullying Week.
e-Safety - Safer Internet Day
For over ten years we have taken part in Safer Internet Day, coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre. We have explored a number of themes with the children over this time but all the themes have been about working towards a safer and better internet. The theme for Safer Internet Day 2025 was: Too good to be true? Keeping yourself and others safe from scams online. Scams take many forms and can target anyone, including young people. On Safer Internet Day (11th February 2025) we started the conversation about how to spot, respond to and report scams of all types online.
